Are Fables Better Than Facts?
"Fable is more historical than fact, because fact tells us about one man and fable tells us about a million men. "
-Gilbert K. Chesterton
Chesterton thought that fables were a better source to tell us what life was like in the past than history books. In his opinion, history books only tell us about one person at a time, but fables tell us something about the flaws of all mankind.
Do you agree or disagree with Chesterton? Explain why or why not. Make sure you give an example to back up your thinking.

I agree with Chesterton that fables are a good source to tell us about the flaws of man throughout history. For example, in the Tortoise and the Hare, the hare loses the big race due to his conceit. He forgets to keep working at the race, thinking that he's already won. This shows us that a human flaw is thinking too highly of ourselves. I think mankind today still exhibits many of the same flaws such as arrogance, laziness and selfishness.
I argee with him because he is right because that is ture what he said

I disagree because i thin history books are better because you can learn more than you can in fables. Also fables arent always true because animals cant talk english or spanish or evan french most of the animals talk like in the lion and the mouse or the tertle and the hair also in the fox with no tail. So i dissagree with
