This week we are reading The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf. Ferdinand is a bull who would rather sit and smell the flowers than fight the other bulls. A group of bullfighters misjudge him as being ferocious when a bee lands on his back and choose him to be their next challenger.
The book was released just before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, and many saw it as a message for peace. They thought that like Ferdinand, people should stop and smell the flowers instead of being caught up in challenging one another. Countries who felt the war was necessary even banned the book for a time.
More recently, the book was featured in the movie The Blind Side, the true story of Michael Oher. Michael was essentially homeless, living among poverty, drugs, fighting and desperation, until a family took him in as their own. The book and the movie both share the same message:
Follow your heart, and just because you're a bull, doesn't mean you have to act like one.

this message means alot to me i dont think michale oher should of been homles for the frst part his teenager i can aplly this to my life by lik what others think about me and i could change that
this message means a lot to me because the move has a big meaning and is verry sad. the book is o.k. but not as good as the book is... anyway i beleive the movie is about michael oher being homeless and his mom is a drug addict and he gets picked up by a girl.
I wasn't always the big guy, I used to get picked on and couldn't do nothing to stop. I needed friends to build my confinents to.

the mesage is that if you are acting like someone don`t half to do what they did. do something you like to do. your opinion is yours not somebody elses.it apply`s to my life by somebody acting like me by coping every thing i do.
I think that michel oher haslike a greater future on the line for playing football.He's a great student in a long time.

It applys on my life. because I dont want to be homeless and peaple can change that by ,helping each other out once and a while. And not be selfish like others live your own life.
The way the moral thing goes with me is I will never act like a bull just because im one for example I wont hit kids.

this has a extremly big meaning to me because michale oher looks sad and sounds sad through out the whole movie , my favorite part is when she tells him that the oompa loompa is s.j. but i dont know why he wants to be a foot ball player because he could get a job to be somthing els i dont understand why he almost broke his arm ,well...(i do understand but but how did the driver in front of him get involed ). He was happy when he got his car then he got so sad after he got in the crash...(well imtelling the whole story so sorry,

i think that it means that if your tough and mean dose not mean you have to be tough and mean.
what this means to me like if you think youre all big and tough and stuff does not mean you need to act like a gig tough person .
Thuis message means to me that what ever your friends do doesn't mean you have to do it. And i can apply this to my life on my realy mom doing drugs and i used to live with her and i don;t do drugs.
I think that It means if your tough It Dose Not Mean that you Have to Be All Tough and Mean to People Just Act your Self and you Will get Somewhere in Life!
I think that it means that if you are around people that you know but are doing wrong things then you should do good things. And you should make better changes.

I dont know how to "Apply" that to anyones life.i dont think it's right to be mean and stuff like that but yeah i do that sometimes too. i dont care for them as long as you dont pay any attintion to them (bullies) then they wont bother you i guess, and if you are a bully then stop because no one care its stupid and youre just wasting your time on nothing but yourself.

It mean that what you are is who you should be and not what people want you to be. Like people think because im tall i have to play basketball and i dont want so im not going to play that sport.

i think it means jut cause you were born somewhere dose not mean you are bad and take people for granett and because you grew up around drugs and alchole does not mean yu do all of those think and does not mean you take what you and run from the cops and you take adantage of other peoples stuff and money so just because you were born in a bad place and grew up there does not mean your a bad preson
